The IUPUI University Library’s Diversity Scholar Program was developed in 2007 as a part of the campus-wide Diversity Strategic Plan, in which departments develop initiatives to increase the acknowledgement of diversity on campus. The Diversity Scholar Program is aimed at offering a student the opportunity to work within a professional setting, gain experience working and researching within the IUPUI University Library, and develop ideas of their own to promote the positive aspects of diversity amongst the student body, faculty, and staff.

Currently managed by Victoria L. Son, the IUPUI University Library Diversity Scholar for the 2010/2011 academic year, this blog was developed as a platform for keeping up the discussion of diversity on campus, while representing the student body as a diversified whole. The discussion of “diversity” will be done so through many different mediums such as literature, film, the arts, food, academia, research, and contemporary issues. I hope to indulge the readers with day-to-day excuses to engage in diverse rituals, such as trying a new recipe or checking out an independent film, with the hopes that this will keep our eyes and ears open, and our voices respectful and educated.
